Adhik Maas 2020

Adhik Maas in year 2020 starts on 18th September and ends on 16th October 2020. Adhik Maas this year will be known as Ashwin Adhik Maas because it falls in Ashwin month. Adhik Maas is also known as Purushottam Maas or Mal Maas. Spiritual activities specially related to Lord Vishnu are performed during this month because Lord Vishnu rules over this month. All auspicious activities like Mundan, baby naming, house warming, starting a new business, marriage and engagement, starting the construction of a house/office/building etc. are prohibited during this month. Sexual intercourse, conception and eating of tamsik food (Onion, garlik, alcohol, cigarette, meat, egg etc.) is also prohibited during this month. One should immerse itself into the selfless bhakti of Lord Vishnu during Adhik Maas and make the most out of it.
