Shravan Maas Vikrami Samvat 2074

Dear Readers 

I am going to talk a bit about the Hindi Shraavan month in this post.

Shraavan or Sawan is one of the most auspicious months of Hindu Calendar which corresponds to July-August months of Gregorian calendar. During this month Sun is in Cancer sign. All Mondays (Shravan Somvaar) which fall during Saawan maas are considered highly auspicious.

This year Shraavan month starts from 10th July and ends on 7th August. 

Main Festivals and Fasts During Shravan Maas This Year:

Hariyali Amavas Charity, mantra recitation and holy bath at an auspicious pilgrimage site on this day gives results equivalent to the donation of 1000 cows	23 July
Singhaara Teej Married ladies visit their parents on this day. Mehndi is applied on hands and then auspicious songs related to sawan and shiva parvati are sung.	26 July
Naag Panchami On this day if an image of snake is drawn on both the sides of the entry door and it is worshiped with milk, flowers, laddoos etc. and then 3 malas of this mantra "Om Kurukulye Hum Phut Swaaha" are recited, there will not be any appearance of any poisonous snake in the house.	27 July
Raksha Bandhan Auspicious muhurta to celebrate Raksha Bandhan will be between 13:53 to 16:34 hrs	7 August
Lunar Eclipse  It will start on 7th August from 22:18 and end on 8th August at 24:18 (IST) Lunar and Solar eclipses are a very good time for mantra and tantra siddhi so do not let go this time un-utilized.	7, 8 August

 

What Should be Done During Shravan Maas to Get Good Results:

Shravan maas is particularly devoted to lord Shiva. One should remain pious during month and recite Shri Shiv Puraan during this month. It is considered very beneficial. 
Ladies should observe fasts on all Tuesdays of this month. The fast is called Mangal Gauri vrat. This fast is beneficial in getting good effects in marriage, children and luck.

श्रावण मास हिंदू कैलेंडर के सबसे पवित्र मासों में से एक होता है। ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर के जुलाई-अगस्त महीनों में श्रावण मास पड़ता है। इस मास में सूर्य कर्क राशि में होता है। इस मास में पड़ने वाले सभी सोमवार (श्रावण सोमवार) बेहद पवित्र माने जाते हैं। 

इस साल श्रावण मास 10 जुलाई से शुरू होगा और 7 अगस्त को समाप्त होगा। 

श्रावण मास के प्रमुख व्रत व त्यौहार :

त्यौहार/व्रत का नाम	तारीख
रोटक व्रत (श्रावण सोमवार व्रत)	10, 17, 24, 31 जुलाई, 7अगस्त
हरियाली अमावस इस दिन किसी पवित्र तीर्थ पर जप, दान  और स्नान करने से 1000 गोदान के बराबर का पुण्य फल मिलता है	23 जुलाई
सिंघारा तीज  इस दिन विवाहित स्त्रियां अपने मायके आती हैं। अपने हाथों पर मेहँदी लगाती हैं और सावन के गीत गाती हुई झूला झूलती हैं	26 जुलाई
नाग पंचमी  इस दिन अगर गोबर से नाग देवता की आकृति घर के मुख्य द्वार के दोनों तरफ बनाकर दूध, पुष्प और लडडू इत्यादि से पूजा की जाए और "ॐ कुरुकुल्ये हुम् फट स्वाहा" मन्त्र की तीन माला जप की जाएँ तो घर में किसी भी ज़हरीले सांप के आने की संभावना नहीं रहती	27 जुलाई
रक्षा बंधन  रक्षा बंधन मनाने का शुभ मुहूर्त 13:53 (1:53 PM) से लेकर 16:34 (4:34 PM) के बीच रहेगा	7 अगस्त
चंद्र ग्रहण चंद्र ग्रहण 7 अगस्त को रात 10:18 PM पर शुरू होगा और 8 अगस्त की सुबह 12:18 AM तक रहेगा। यानी की 2 घंटे तक। चंद्र या सूर्य ग्रहण मंत्र या तंत्र सिद्धि के लिए बहुत ही अच्छा समय होता है अतः इसे व्यर्थ न जाने दें।	7, 8 अगस्त

 

श्रावण मास में सुख समृद्धि पाने के लिए क्या करना चाहिए :

श्रावण मास शिवजी को समर्पित है | इस मास में शुद्ध रहकर श्री शिव पुराण का पाठ करना चाहिए। स्त्रियों को इस मास के हर मंगलवार को व्रत रखना चाहिए जिसे मंगल गौरी व्रत कहते हैं।  इस व्रत से स्त्रियों को विवाह, संतान, सौभाग्यादि सुखों की प्राप्ति होती है।
