Troubled Marriage and Astrology ( Vaivaahik Samasya aur Jyotish)

Marriage is a union of two compatible souls for life. But many a times when there is a lack of compatibility between the two, marriage could end up in divorce. 

Is there any way we can foresee divorce in a marriage? 

The answer is "Yes". Vedic astrology gives us good no. of tools to predict whether the marriage will be successful or not. In this post I am going to touch the aspect of a troubled marriage at a high level but in future posts, I will go in detail of this aspect. I have therefore made "Marriage" as a separate category on my blog.

For a successful marriage following are the three main players:

• Venus, the karaka of marriage and sexuality
• 7th house, which represents wife, marraige, marital relations etc.
• 7th house lord

Though there are many other factors which affect marriage like 2nd house, navamsa but we will not look at those aspects in this post.

As a basic rule if the above three players are in good condition, having aspects from benefics or occupied by benefics, we can predict that the marriage is going to be successful else the opposite. 

Let's see it in action in the following kundli of Eleanor Holm who was an American swimmer and an Olympic champion. She got married in Shani-Rahu dasha and got divorced in Mercury-Mercury dasha. She has partial kalsarpadosha in her kundli on 1st and 7th house which would mean that she was going to have troubles in her marital life. Let's look at the other three players which we mentioned above.

Venus: is the lord of 3rd and 8th two malefic houses and placed in 10th house along with his enemy Jupiter, the lagnesh. It's fair in power. Though Venus is in Sun's nakshatra which is the lord of 6th house which is the house of enemy. So, it creates enmity between the partners.

7th House: It is occupied by the malefic Ketu and getting aspect from Rahu, another malefic. In navamsa, the 7th house is being aspected by Mars and occupied by Sun two malefics. All these combinations are making the 7th house weak.

7th Lord: 7th lord in Rashi chart is Mercury which is placed in 9th house in trikone position which is a good position. It is being aspected by the malefic Rahu and it is placed with another malefic Sun which is the lord of 6th house, house of enemy, again creating enmity between partners. Mercury is also being aspected by malefic Shani which is the lord of 11th house, the house of gain, and the 12th house, house of expenditure. Expenditure could be of marital bliss so it may mean gains through divorce. That's what happened when she got divorced. She got 200,000 dollars in alimony which was a record at that time.

So we can see how the above three players play an important role in one's marriage.
